Florida Democrats on How Not to Win

Want to know what really chafes my ass? Quotes like this:

"If it's Charlie, it's a done deal. Crist takes that Senate seat," Stacy Ritter said.

Charlie Crist is not a leader; he's a poll reader. Take the budget mess. His proposal is a sham. He completely lacks vision of how to make Florida a better state.

But then, take any Democratic legislator. Where is our Democratic response? Where is our party leadership? I not even hearing crappy ideas. I'm not hearing anything.

Florida deserves better than anyone is giving it right now.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the rest of the Democratic party didn't get here by just disagreeing. We offered ideas. Barack Obama offered a vision of a better country, a better tomorrow for every American. Ya sure, the cynics among you will banter about how it was poll tested and packaged to the hilt, but the vision and the ideas and the feelings voters felt in November are real.

We've been saying that Charlie needs to wake up and realize optimism isn't an economic policy.  Guess what: capitulation ain't an electoral strategy either.

And, on the Friday before another legislative session begins, I leave yall with this from the American President:

People want leadership. And in the absence of genuine leadership, they will listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership, Mr. President. They're so thirsty for it, they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.

Anyone going to step up?
